Don’t be put off by its name, because Deadmans mountain bike loop offers a fun and active day for the whole family. Set out from Astills picnic area on this easy, flat ride, flanked by ironbark, spotted gum and flowering shrubs.
The bicycle itself has always been a tool for me, a way to access hard to reach places. I have been hunting by bike for as long as I can remember being able to hunt and the Ruffed Grouse is my favorite quarry. There is no better tasting thing in the world in my opinion. You might as well lump Grouse, Lobster and Walleye together the best things you can pluck from nature, pour butter on and consume.
This hunting bow comes with compressed ABS limbs that ensure long life. They offer sufficient weight, balance and strength to provide this element. The strong layered limb draws weights up to 70 pounds, and this can be reduced and raised by simply loosening and tightening the bolt, respectively.
A high-speed, feature complete, value priced electric bike that comes in four frame sizes, high-step and mid-step frame style, and three colors. Relatively comfortable thanks to fatter tires, a suspension fork with compression slider and lockout, Velo……
The VOLT’s 36V battery-claimed to last 70miles – is hooked up to a mid-drive motor that gives a nice balanced feel to the bike. Shimano provides the power in the form of Shimano Steps, the Japanese company’s first motor and e-bike groupset.
The second flat occurred about a week later on the front wheel. The puncture was more traditional, in that it was on the side of the tube where the wheel makes contact with the ground, suggesting a sharp object on the ground pierced the wheel and tube. (However it was a little off to one side so a pinch puncture isn’t necessarily out of the question. See note below).
Upstart brand Live Out There this winter made its debut with a line of performance-oriented (but budget-friendly) jackets for the outdoors. We reviewed three models to see how electric hunting bike stack up in the cold.
Laws governing who can ride electric bikes, and where, vary from state to state. In some places, you can ride cycle paths; in others, you cannot. You may need a license – and even insurance – and there may be age limits.
According to thud the bike above will go 65mph if geared for it. However Thud is not a big believer in speed tricks and instead focuses on twisty race track performance. Thud is well known in the community for making some of the fastest, lightest, most reliable electric race bikes ever created. He has won his share of electric bike races, and has blown away gas powered bikes as well. Below is a rare 2-speed mid-drive. Thud is a machinist, and when he couldn’t find a 2-speed transmission that was strong enough and as light as he wanted, he made one from scratch! Thud built the pictured bike for a friend, for him to compete with it at the Willow Springs Race track against gasser pedal bikes:
Still, once the novelty of having power assistance wears off, it’s the basics like sizing, geometry and balance that take precedence. If anything, these fundamental attributes that influence handling are even more pertinent on an e-MTB as the suspension becomes less of a focus; the steady power supply from the motor eliminating pedal-induced bob, while the extra weight of the battery and motor on the frame ensures that the suspension is working overtime to iron out even the smallest creases on the trail.
UPDATE: COMPETITION CLOSED It takes just a couple of minutes to vote for the best images in our photography competition, and you could win high-end gear from Velomacchi and REV’IT! On their website, Camelbak states the FlashFlo was designed to carry a trail map, some snacks, a phone, wallet, and keys. I shoved a whole lot more than that into the two small compartments. The main compartment is shared with a 1.5 L hydration reservoir, while the smaller outer pocket has two internal mesh dividers, and a key ring.
A value-priced urban electric bike that includes fenders, integrated LED lights, a rear rack, and hydraulic disc brakes, it’s available in three frame sizes but only high-step. This is a high-speed Class 3 ebike that can reach ~28 mph assisted and because……
The Dogati super electric bike (see story here) is an Astro Flight 3220 powered machine running through a NuVinci variable transmission. This awesome bike is capable of  incredible acceleration, frightening hill climbing, and blistering top speed. This E-bike is one of the most elaborate and beautiful DIY bikes ever, (read about top 10 elegant ebikes) and it was crafted from the ground up (not a converted bicycle, like almost every other bike on this list). Make note of the special-order extra-wide wheel rims, which allow the use of heavy-duty moped tires.
The bike that I chose already had a setup for a rear rack. In the past this bike has been used for bicycle touring and I was confident in the rack’s ability to hold weight. I simply installed my rear rack and set the battery box on top of the rack. This was not a very good idea because the battery box was sliding all over the place.
The only thing left was to add a double kickstand and some lights. The kickstand is really important for a bike of this weight. In my case, the kickstand makes it easier to unload and load my young son from the bike trailer I pull behind me. I simply flip down the kickstand and then the bike is stable.

It seems the “enduro” mtbing category has pretty much ripped off the Enduro dirtbikers completely. First, the helmets, then the racing format (Time trial style), then the fannypacks for tools, now even Schwalbe’s “new” tire chambered system copies the motos! What’s next? The engine? Oh wait…
While the FAT bike tires may appear slow and cumbersome, nothing could be further from reality. Though they are certainly wider, and larger, than traditional 26” tires, FAT bike tires float over most surfaces and keep the bike’s steering lively and assuring. Depending on rider weight, FAT Tires can be inflated to pressures as low as 7pounds per square inch. Lower PSI is how you unlock the performance advantage of FAT tires. This larger tire coupled with lower-than-normal PSI inflation also serves a dual purpose: natural suspension. Over bumps, rocks, You’ll feel like you’re riding a cushy full-suspension bike, only it’s faster and more responsive. FAT tires allow the rider to sling shot themselves through the nastiest bumps in terrain. They also ride fantastically on road. You’ll feel like you’re cornering on a motorcycle as you lean into turns on a descent at high-speed.
Summary: I really like this bike. It is fast, real fast. I feel the Hunter is priced well for a 750W mid-drive off-road bike. My friends have all tried it and they have been impressed with it also. After sales service hasn’t been great in terms of answering their phones, and I still don’t know exactly how fast I’m going, but I don’t need to, I ride by feel not by the speedometer. A little attention to the tyre/tube issues and adding rim tape to the wheel would be advantageous for getting good reviews. 🙂 Having said all that, I would highly recommend buying this bike if you can afford it. 🙂 (Posted on 8/10/2015)
Great purchase!! Researched bikes for months and finally dropped the hammer. The All Terrain R750 is the perfect stealthy hunting machine. Eric is easy to talk too and will set you up with the correct bike you need !
Battery costs vary enormously. Cheap batteries are available, but you just don’t know what you’re getting. Our advice is to buy only those recommended by the manufacturer. You’ll likely pay between $300 and $500, but the good news is you’ll only be buying one every few years.
An “unthinkable” tragedy: Two people die in tree well accidents at Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor ski area. Officials called the powder ‘fluffy’ and ‘easy to ski.’ It brought thousands to the ski resort over the weekend. But those conditions also belied a very real danger: tree wells
I ran across a forum on www.bikeforums.net about using prismatic LifeP04 batteries for solar power storage (http://www.bikeforums.net/electric-bikes/900011-first-ebike-build.html). The second comment by turbo1859 caught my eye. I paid close attention to how he has previously constructed his battery packs using the prismatic cells. I ultimately chose these batteries for the simplicity of balancing the cells, and the ability to remove or replace cells in the future without having to rip apart the battery pack and remove the cells that are soldered together. I could simply replace a cell without having to solder a new one in series or parallel within the pack. The problem with these batteries is they are not lightweight. I believe all 4 packs weigh about 26 pounds.
Specialist off-road electric bikes aren’t legal for road use, so we’re not spending a lot of time on them in this review. However, you may be interested in learning a few facts about these monstrosities. They’re lightweight yet tough with fat, all-terrain tires, advanced brakes, and speeds in excess of 50 mph.

This is a super comfortable ride, as it should be considering it’s dedicated to touring and commuting. The riser stem puts you in a really comfortable position when riding and the motor is super supportive.
