“big tire tricycle mountain bikes for hunting”

One day I became fed up with all of my excuses for driving to work every day. During the summer I would ride my bike, but it would come in waves without any consistency. There is one huge hill climb to get to my work that is quite daunting, and is the main reason why most people take a vehicle, especially when you are running late. One day I said, screw it — I am going to put together an electric bike.
Best known for their chocolate, watches and banks, the Swiss are also quite skilled bicycle makers as it turns out. If the BMC + Lamborghini collaboration wasn’t proof enough, see Stromer and new ST1 pedal-assisted electric bicycle. Now available for the first time stateside, the highly engineered electric bicycle resembles more of a city cruiser than the moped-looking bikes your delivery man rides—a design shift we’re more than pleased with. By leaning more toward a traditional frame geometry and monochrome colorway the new ST1 e-bike stands to go relatively unnoticed on the street—until it’s flying past the pack at up to 33 MPH that is.
If you’re completely new to ebikes, check out this short video overview and e-book guide that’s free on Amazon if you’ve got Prime. It’s full of pictures and examples to get you acclimated to the space. I’ve also done an in depth video interview about ebikes with my uncle since he has been riding one to work every day for over a year now.
Whether you’re a treestand hunter looking to quickly get to your stand in an unobtrusive manner, a western hunter trying to push deeper into the backcountry or an outdoorsman with disabilities wanting to keep your outdoor lifestyle, the QuietKat Electric Vehicle provides the answer to all your hunting transportation needs. Utilizing high-end mountain-bike components and fabricated machinery to deliver durability with minimal environmental impact, the design teams with a 48-volt lithium-ion-battery-operated direct-drive hub motor to facilitate a silent ride that tops out at 19 mph. Engineered with a weight capacity of up to 300 lbs., it’s able to pull an additional 250 lbs., ensuring you have an easy way to get your trophy back to camp once you’ve pulled the trigger. Travels up to 25 miles on a single charge so your hunt isn’t restricted by distance, and if you plan on hunting the backcountry, the battery compartment is large enough to carry an extra battery that doubles your effective distance to 50 miles. 8″ of ground clearance means you can take it almost anywhere, while 4″ off-road suspension keeps your ride as smooth as possible. Climbs grades up to 20° and has up to 15° of lean technology. Digital display lets you easily access vital information such as how much battery life is left, distance and speed. Knobby tread grips difficult terrain, while mudflaps block splatters. Easy-to-operate half twist throttle makes traveling at an exact speed a cinch, plus hydraulic disc brakes on both the front and rear tires offer the control you need to navigate tricky hills. Handlebars and seat are adjustable to accommodate various-sized riders. Included gun/bow rack keeps your weapon handy and secure, plus a waterproof dry bag, handlebar bag and a pannier rack system offer ample storage options. Completely recharges an empty battery overnight with the included charger. Lifetime warranty against defective workmanship for the frame and rear suspension swing arm. All other components have a one-year warranty.
For me, the benefits of this design outweighed the negatives. In the following videos, I demonstrate how the bike performs with the Bafang BBS02 mid-drive motor kit. I would like to make two notes: I am aware that I need lube for my chain (taken care of), and yes a bigger hill is needed. Enjoy!

Every stick, vine, rock, branch and felled log finds a way to impede your progress — and that’s just going downhill. Skinned ankles, banged-up shins and the never-pleasant lunging off the seat and onto the bar of the bike are good-enough reasons not even to try it.
Recently electric fat-tire bikes have entered the realm of hunting.  The ATA show this year featured a few different national brands of these bikes being marketed specifically at the hunting community.  Sticking with my mantra of being hyper-local, I was able to get my hands on entry level Shooter-750 manufactured by a company called Huntin’ Wheelz based right here in Clare, Michigan.  This electric hunting bike’s specs equal or exceed the brands with the bigger marketing budgets but at a fraction of the cost.
The Santa Cruz was my personal favorite since I really want an electric bike electric hunting bikes is made specifically for doing big jumps and high speeds. My idea of heaven is a Dh MTB that has an incredibly powerful electric motor and is tough enough to withstand wrecks.
Going through the best hunting bow reviews helped us to understand that there are a couple of things that separate good models from the not so efficient ones. Even though purchasing a hunting bow needs to be done in direct accordance with your hunting skills, there are some tricks of the trade that can help out. For instance, some bow hunters think that most bows with high let-off respond well to shooting changes. Now, using a 60-pound bow with a margin of 80% let-off might hold a steady 12 pounds at full draw. According to recent statistics it seems that bows with low let-off designs are easier to manage. Such hunting tools shoot fast and with full force. Due to the variety of shooting capabilities, compound bows respond well to changes on the ground which makes them the perfect hunting instruments.
Editor note August 2015. We have re-written this story to make it more current as of today. “Spinningmagnets”  wrote the original version of this story two years ago, and predicted the BBSO2 would be a hot thing.  Now it is clear this is one of the best DIY Kits on the market…and definitely the most popular.  To see a more recent review  written in October of 2016 read the article here:  Bafang has released a 750 watt mid drive system that has been making a big splash in the electric bike market in the USA and is now probably the most popular conversion … Continue reading Bafang BBS02, 750W mid-drive electric bike motor Kit Review
After choosing your desired bike, the first step is to remove your chain, front crank set, and bottom bracket. Some chains are connected with a quick link which can easily be pulled apart. Other chains may require a chain tool to remove a link from the chain to get it separated.
The next step: Accessorize the bike for hunting. My primary goal was to customize a bike that I could use to carry my bow and, perhaps, a small pack into the woods. (The design I eventually came up with works for rifle hunters, too.)
That’s my simple diet plan – quit eating like a pig (well, in terms of quantity). In short, you don’t have to become a diet fanatic to maintain an ideal hunting weight. Just cut out the excessive and unneeded calories (soda, beer, ice cream, rich deserts, pizza, etc.), and eat servings proportionate to your level of exercise. Follow this simple exercise/diet plan, and you’ll conquer the tallest of mountains and biggest of big game.
Felt founder Jim Felt, an avid bow hunter, wanted to design a rig that could shlep gear far into the backcountry for multi-day hunting trips. His answer: the concept Bosch-powered Outfitter than can haul a trailer with up to 100 pounds of equipment. The trailer we saw at the show was a modified model from B.O.B., but Felt is apparently working on a design of its own for 2015.
If you have always wanted to hit the field with confidence but never had the opportunity to use specialized gear that allows you to raise up to par, you might be interested in checking out the SAS Sergeant 55 27-29. This is a compound bow that’s as smooth as possible and that makes hitting the target as easy as pie.

FAT bikes rule. Ask anyone who’s had a chance to ride one and you’ll see their eyes widen with glee. For the past five years, the FAT bike market has exploded in the United States and elsewhere. Enthusiasts have been blown away by FAT bikes’ ability to conquer terrain previously thought impassable by bike. Snow, rocky riverbeds, extreme off-camber sections, the steepest hills imaginable. A 4.7 in wide tire makes all of these scenarios rideable. FAT bikes were initially used on trails under many feet of snow. People were naturally curious, “I wonder how this bike would ride here, and here, and here?” Since their inception, FAT bikes have become the bike of choice for an immense cult of riders. Some people have gone as far as selling every other bike they own and opting to ride their FAT bike exclusively.

While its burly build and big tires are all about rough weather, its e-assisted drivetrain is aimed at sure-footed, reliable commuting. Electric bikes like the Pedego Trail Tracker make riders choose between motored propulsion and pedaling, but the Big Easy uses a pedal-assisted powertrain that provides an extra boost to get riders from point A to point B a little faster, with a little less effort. Motor assistance can also be useful for carrying heavy gear or helping the rider muscle through a particularly tough, sticky track of snow.

  1. It wasn’t long before I was using my bike for other hunting chores, like hanging tree stands. Of course, you’re not going to carry a ladder stand through the woods on a bike, but lock-on type stands and even some climbers are easy to strap to the rack. By using the front basket to carry a bag of screw-in tree steps, a safety harness and a haul line, and tasking the rear rack to carry the stand, hauling my entire set-up to even remote parts of my hunting property was a simple affair.

This awesome bike is capable of  incredible acceleration, frightening hill climbing, and blistering top speed.
